Sales of hybrid-electric cars saw the largest increase in the EU last month, however, there is still a strong demand for petrol-fuelled vehicles. New car registrations in the EU increased by 10.1% in February compared to the previous year, with France and Italy leading the way. Hybrid-electric vehicles experienced the largest increase in registrations in the region. In France, registrations increased by 13%, in Italy by 12.8%, in Spain by 9.9%, and in Germany by 5.4%. Among all the countries, electric car sales saw the biggest rise in January, but hybrid-electric cars were the most popular choice.
